Cape by Design Tours is owned by Jacqui Braunlich,  a committed Capetonian, born and bred. Jacqui brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into her business and has been working in the Tourism industry for 18 years.

Jacqui has Degrees in Education and Music and has worked as a teacher and journalist. When she returned to Cape Town after having lived in Johannesburg for some years, Jacqui decided to become a Tour Guide. She had the desire to share her passion for her country, its people, history and culture, as well as its unique natural beauty. It's a decision she's happy she made.

Jacqui is also fluent in German and Dutch and conducts tours in these languages.

 OUR GUIDES: The Team

ODWA FUTSHANE

Odwa hails from the Eastern Cape and has lived in Langa, Cape Town’s oldest township for most of his life. He is a young, committed and respected community member and leader in his community. No wonder then, that he is the best guide to give you an authentic experience when he takes you on a walking tour through different areas of the township.

Through his involvement in the community, Odwa helps direct the interests of tourists to projects they would like to visit. This has contributed to tourism being regarded positively and appreciated by people who live in the townships. So on a tour with Odwa, you are in safe hands.

Odwa is a Western Cape guide which means he also conducts our other tours such as the Cape Peninsula Tours and Cape Town City Tours.

NICK RUBENSTEIN 

Nick is an adventure and photographic guide. He has worked as a River Guide on the Orange River, one of South Africa’s major rivers, taking School, University and other groups on trips of several days. He also works as a guide taking Kayak tours on the oceans around Cape Town.

Nick has a Degree in Film and Photography. He enjoys showing travellers how to take enviable photographs and to make the best short videos. With his eye for detail and endless patience, Nick is the best teacher you could wish for.

BRENT THOMAS

Brent is a very active and adventurous guide who has a passion for his community and environment in Hout Bay. The multi-talented Brent, leads hiking, biking and cultural tours. On his tours he shares his passion for his environment and insights into the ancient spiritual traditions of the Khoi and Rastafari peoples of the Cape.

During the COVID 19 Crisis, Brent has been a very active and tireless helper in projects providing Food Relief to the poor in his community.
