1. ON FOOT FOR FOODIES - a half day tour

  • Walking Tour of the beautiful historic Cape Town CBD.
  • Visit to Coffee Roastery for a cup of their African brew.
  • Walk among the colourful houses of the Bo-Kaap and sample some typical spicy Cape Malay snacks.

2. FULL DAY FOR FOODIES AND WINE LOVERS - Delicious Delights in the City and South

  • Walking Foodie Tour through the historic Cape Town CBD (as above).
  • Visit to Coffee Roastery for a cup of their African brew.
  • Walk among the colourful houses of the Bo-Kaap and sample some typical spicy Cape Malay snacks.
  • Taste Delicious Pure Organic Chocolate.
  • Get the taste of Biltong and Droe Wors (dried sausage), SA´s best dried meaty treats. Carnivores get hooked.
  • For lunch head out to the picturesque Fishing Village of Kalk Bay to see fishing boats bring back their catch. Crispy fresh Fish and Chips are on offer here.
  • Wine Tasting in Constantia, an historic wine region dating back to 1682 and world renowned for its splendid wines. Sample wines at original wineries like Steenberg, Groot Constantia and Buitenverwachting or at smaller more intimate boutique wineries like Constantia Glen and Eagles Nest.

CAPE TOWN MARKETS:

Cape Town has many vibrant community markets offering locally grown and artisanal food. They’re mostly open on Weekends, but some are open every day.

  • The Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) is held every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday at the historic Granger Bay site of the V&A Waterfront. This Market is a community farmers-style market for independent local farmers and artisanal food producers
  • The Old Biscuit Mill - Neighbourgoods Market - every Saturday morning this market turns into a haven for lovers of artisanal food and drink and the buzz is awesome. It's advisable to get there early. In addition there are spaces where local Artisans and Designers sell their goods and many are also open during the week.
  • Mojo Market is an exciting 7-day-a-week food and lifestyle market in vibey Sea Point! A great place to meet friends and locals. Come and find your mojo! From Live Music, Sport Screenings, 30 Food Stalls and an artisan Retail offering – to 4 bars, one of which boasts the widest selection of beverages on Tap in the Southern Hemisphere – they truly have something for everyone!

3. WINE AND DINE IN THE WINELANDS - a full day tour 

Stellenbosch, Franschhoek  and Paarl form the backbone of the Cape Winelands – offering numerous  wine estates, historic  towns and eateries. With a history dating back to the late 1600’s, there is a long tradition of making fine wines.

Each winery has its unique style and wines,  from traditional Cape Dutch to State of the Art and modern. Yet they all meet  the standards of South Africa’s highly acclaimed wineries.

Our Tours introduce you to the scenery, architecture, gourmet delights and of course the Wine.

As with all our tours we are flexible, so if you have a specific Wine Estate you wish to visit, or if you have any other requests, we will be happy to oblige.

 Here’s an idea of what you might experience on one of our tours - once you depart from Cape Town:

  • We begin at a Paarl Wine Estate. Because not everyone wants to start  drinking wine first thing, we offer a guided Chocolate Tasting of 6 Single Origin dark chocolates with flavours like Rooibos, Salt, Lime and Ginger.
  • Next door there’s an artisanal Cheese and Wine Tasting at a famous Wine Estate renowned for its innovative and delicious products, including a range of 100% goats milk cheeses.
  • A Master Wine Tasting is also on offer here which includes olive oil and cheese tastings.
  • Next visit the enchanting village of Franchhoek for an optional light lunch.

  • Then it’s time to head over the mountain to the historic University town of Stellenbosch, with its oak-lined streets, diverse and interesting architecture.
  • Take your pick for a Wine Tasting at one of many well known wine estates.
  • A visit to the Village Museum in Stellenbosch can be included if time allows. This includes an enchanting walk through four original period houses, dating back to the early 1700’s.
  • Return to your lodging in Cape Town.

4. WINELESS WINELANDS – A Family Option or for Non-Drinkers who want to experience the places and splendid Scenery.

Your children are welcome to come along. We’ll keep an eye while you enjoy a tasting and they participate in child-friendly activities. And sometimes, there’s a special non-alcoholic tasting for them.

5. CAPE MALAY COOKERY COURSE - a hands-on home-based local experience

Participate in creating an authentic meal in the iconic cooking style brought to the kitchens of the Cape Dutch settlers by slaves from the far East. The food is spicy but not too hot. This takes place in the home of a cook in her Bo-Kaap home.

  • Cook a traditional Cape Malay curry or bobotie (a signature South African ground beef dish), from scratch!
  • Get into the tricky art of folding a samoosa.
  • Have fun learning the art of making a Roti by slapping and rolling the dough.
  • Make fresh, crispy Dhaaltjies, aka chilli bites …. as spicy as you like them.
  • Sit down and enjoy this traditional meal and the fruits of your labour.
